Privacy Policy
Privacy policy
We respect your privacy and aim to collect only the information we reasonably need to run the studio, respond to enquiries, and understand how the website is being used.
What we collect directly
We may collect your name, email address, phone number, and lesson-related details when you contact us, submit an enquiry, join the newsletter, or arrange lessons with us.
Technical analytics and website usage data
We use first-party website analytics stored in Sanity to understand traffic and improve the website. These analytics records may include the page viewed, the date and time of the visit, referrer domain, device type, browser, operating system, viewport size, language, timezone, campaign parameters such as UTM tags, and anonymous visitor or session identifiers stored in your browser.
If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal of 1, our first-party page-view tracker is designed to skip client-side analytics logging.
Approximate location information
Our hosting platform may use your IP address to derive approximate location information such as country, region, city, and timezone. We use that coarse location data for analytics and reporting. The analytics records we review in Sanity are designed to show approximate location and anonymous identifiers rather than a full raw IP address.
How we use information
We use personal information to respond to enquiries, organise lessons, manage studio communication, send newsletters you have requested, improve the website, understand which pages and resources are useful, and monitor general site performance and usage trends.
Browser storage and anonymous identifiers
To help distinguish visits and estimate active website usage, the website may store an anonymous long-lived visitor ID in local storage and a shorter-lived session ID in session storage. These identifiers are used for first-party analytics rather than to directly identify you by name.
How we store information
We keep information in systems we use to run the business, including Sanity for website content and analytics records, and other secure services used for enquiries, newsletters, and studio administration. We keep data only for as long as reasonably required for those purposes, legal compliance, dispute resolution, and record keeping.
Third-party services
We use trusted service providers to host and operate parts of the website and studio workflow, including Vercel, Sanity, MyMusicStaff, Resend, and other email or infrastructure providers we reasonably require from time to time. These services may process information on our behalf according to their own terms and privacy policies.
Depending on the provider and infrastructure involved, your information may be processed in Australia, the United States, or other countries where those providers operate.
Your choices
You can request access, correction, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, or ask a privacy question at any time by emailing micah@huntermusicacademy.com.au.
You can also limit some analytics collection by using browser privacy controls, clearing local or session storage, or enabling Do Not Track where your browser supports it.
